After careful consideration, I have selected the Hungarian blue bread seed poppy as the best overall flower the represent the large majority of the poppies that will be in Poppyville garden. Not only is it beautiful and easy to grow but you also get edible poppy seeds that are (so I've read) in the highly desirable color of blue. As you can see, my first batch was acquired from Baker Creek heirloom seeds and I already have another batch on the way. I hope to document the process of growing the poppy flowers from site selection all the way to seed collection right here on Poppyville.
